Dr Karen Osborne graduated as a doctor from the University of London in 2000.
She completed her intern posts in the west of England and then spent time as a emergency doctor before completing her general practice training in hospital and general practice in Wiltshire, England in 2005.
She underwent extra training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Family Planning and Sexual Health during her junior doctor years and has diplomas from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in both disciplines.
She then worked as both a General Practitioner and in Family Planning Clinics for 5 Years before moving to Australia in 2011 and spent 2 1/2 Years working in Australian General Practice before deciding to sub-specialise in Reproductive and Sexual Health.
From 2011 - 2019, Dr Osborne worked as a Medical Officer at Family Planning NSW both as a clinician and a medical educator. She was previously responsible for the national FPAA distance education course. She occasionally lectures in family planning on behalf of FPNSW and for the pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp & Dohme and has been collaborating with pharmaceutical company Bayer in producing educational material for GPs.
Karen now consults from and is the Clinical Director at Clinic 66 - a GP clinic that specialises in Reproductive and Sexual Health. She is a GP registrar supervisor through GP Synergy.
Due to her experience in the field of Family Planning, Reproductive and Sexual Health, Dr Osborne is often invited to contribute to articles and radio talk shows.
